Las Vegas Open 2020 Warmachine Review
LVO Elvis.jpg

The Las Vegas Open 2020 events have come to a close! After getting home and going right back to work, I’m finally getting the recap and stats together.
I want to thank everyone that came out to play and made it such a great event, my bestest Judge Will-5, and all the helpers without whom this would not be possible.

Over the weekend we had three heats of qualifiers, Finals, a three-person team tournament, Who’s the Boss, Spell Draft, and some MonPoc!

Heat 1 Champions qualifiers:
Chris Dancocks -Grymkin
Shawn Hopkins -Skorne
Dave Bergstrom- Infernals
Tucker Jackson- Infernals
Bret Fogel -Grymkin

Heat 2 qualifiers:
Travis Marg -Infernals
Quin Z -Skorne
Branden Owens -Cygnar
Danny Modesto- Menoth
Gareth Antle -Menoth
Todd Ensley -Retribution

Heat 3 qualifiers:
Ben Fitch -Crucible Guard
Cory Doyle -Cygnar
Mark Ewanec -Infernals
Aleksander Ornaf -Infernals
Kevin Rogers -Mercenaries

Finals came around Sunday Morning. After four hard fought rounds, David Bergstrom came out the winner, going undefeated the whole weekend! He won a $500 plane flight to the event of his choice (LVO, L&L, WFW), a spot on the WTC America Team, a bunch of WFW points, Iron Gauntlet points, and everyone taking inspirations from his lists!

I can’t wait to see everyone again at LVO 2021!

Below you can see each round’s pairings, final standings, and army lists.

Notes on Conflict Chamber Lists
-Battle Priests are allocated differently in actual lists. CC has an error with unit allocation and free points.
-Todd Ensley lists: replaces Narn and Sentinel Scyir with Scyth. Scyth is not in CC at this time.
-Kevin Rogers list; Jakes jack is a Toro instead of what is listed in CC
-Brandon Owens; Add Order of Illumination Resolutes (min) 8 and Battle priestsx3 0(6) to his list.

Las Vegas Open Warmachine Recap

First off I want to thank everyone that came to this year's Las Vegas Open and made it such an amazing event. Without you guys it would never be so great. Also a huge thanks to all my Judges, PG's and helpers that made everything run smoothly and helped me keep my sanity over the weekend.

For anyone interested in pictures and the like head over to the Facebook page. LVO Warmachine

There was an amazing turn out this year and FAT matts as far as the eye can see.

Over the weekend we recorded a bunch of games and RFP Pressganged the Frontline Gaming streaming rig into the service of the Dragon Father.

(Yes this is 40k, but it is what the stream set up looks like)

You can view the streamed games at http://www.twitch.tv/frontlinegaming_tv/profile

The RFP grudge matches are here starting at 10:46:00 http://www.twitch.tv/frontlinegaming_tv/v/41395284

The interview with William Hungerford starts at 0:18:00 http://www.twitch.tv/frontlinegaming_tv/v/40990032

Big thanks to Charles (Omnus), Emanuel Class and anyone else that helped for casting the games. But I know you did it just to play with the streaming toys!

Congrats to all our winner over the weekend, including the piles of raffle loot! Hopefully everyone had a good time and we will see you again. LVO is just going to get bigger and better! I have already started planning.

Phoenix Open WMW Qualifier Tournament.

Phoenix Open was Sept. 5th-7th. I was recruited to help run the event along with William Rutan. We both had a great time seeing everyone and watching them test their prowess against each other!

We had a total of 44 players. The first day everyone played in the masters qualifier. Day two consisted of an eight man finals and a 35 point tournament for everyone else.

You can watch the recordings of the games here. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBcb8HX_6xu00cI0SmU0FA-__UUoZonLq

Ending day one, we had eight people move onto Masters Finials.

Brian Marino -Legion
Matthew Shoup -Khador
Jason Flanzer -Trollbloods
Kevin Rodgers -Mercs
Inyoung Whang -Khador
James Bannan -Cryx
Bret Fogel -Circle
Dan Yount -Circle

Going into Sundays Masters Finals was a tough field. At the end of the day Brian Marino was able to pull through for the big win. Though luckily for Dan Yount both Brian and Bret are already qualified, so the invitational ticket fell to third place. We had a TON of prize support. Over $800 for the weekend.

I want to thank Imperial Outpost for graciously hosting the event and for providing such great prize support. Also Broken Egg games for providing $100 in gift certificates and Black Sheep Industries for $200 that were given out to random participants.

Masters Finals

1st place Brian Marino $300 Certificate

2nd Place Bret Fogel $180 Certificate

3rd Place Dan Yount  $100 Certificate WMW qualifier ticket

35 point Sunday SR

1st Scott Chandler -Khador $120 Certificate

2nd Bruce Montgomery -Cryx $80 Certificate

3rd Colin Miller -Trollbloods

I want to thank everyone that took the time to come out and participate. I had a great time seeing everyone I and hope to see some of you at LVO!
